If I were commuting in the summer in a non-lane splitting place, I would probably consider compromising my safety wrt road rash so that I don't pass out from heat exhaustion. Personally I use perf leather in the summer and have zero issues with heat, even at 30C, so long as I am moving. Then again, if you are going to be travelling through multiple climates textile will be far more versatile. There are think 1.0mm leathers that are probably worse than 1200D textile.Īssuming safety is your only criteria why ride in anything by leather.
